What is the first session like?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, begin to build a relationship of trust and rapport, and complete a diagnostic interview. With children and adolescent clients, the first portion of the first appointment will include time to talk with client and guardian(s). During this time, we will discuss what has brought you to counseling and the shared goals of future sessions. After this collaborative session, the therapist will meet with the child/adolescent client to begin building trust and rapport. With adults, a more structured diagnostic interview format will be used to learn more about counseling goals and begin building a relationship between client and therapist.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we are in-network with the providers below:

  • United Healthcare PPO / United Behavioral Health PPO

  • Sorry- Medicare and/or Medicaid is currently not accepted

How much does a session cost? Do you handle insurance paperwork?

Sessions range in price from $125-$200 dollars. Insurance agreements and co-payments differ per individual and/or group plan. MLS Counseling & Consulting will take care of all billing and insurance paperwork through approved providers listed above.

Do you have other pay options?

Yes, we accept all major credit cards, personal checks and cash.
Limited sliding scale appointments are available upon request.

How long is a typical sessions? What can I expect?

A typical session is 50 minutes in length. While Marc provides sessions in a clinical setting, he also will meet clients in the setting that is most comfortable for them. This includes meetings in public recreation spaces (parks), walking meetings, sports-related activities, in-home and telehealth settings.

How do I create and manage appointments?

First step will be sending a CONTACT US submission form informing us of your desire to start the process. Clients will be provided access to create and use our data management portal for their booking needs. Our software is HIPAA compliant and allows clients the ability to schedule appointments, review their bills, as well as provide an ability to pay their invoices online.
